For children and young people

GAP

As well as meeting on Sunday mornings for teaching, GAP also meet on Friday evenings in the church hall for socials, which can be anything from film nights to cook-offs, games evenings to scavenger hunts!  Lots of fun for everyone, with a varied programme throughout the year, a tuck shop, and all for 50p each per evening.  This is a great way to get to know other young people, and a brilliant place to start inviting friends to church!

Flames

Flames is where older teenagers start thinking about bigger issues, broaching hot topics and eating lots of cake!  We have completed a Youth Alpha course, which has been useful for going over the basics and getting to grips with exactly what an active and true Christian faith is all about.

Flames meets during the evening at the Vicarage on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

Urban Saints

Reaching out to our local community, this youth-focussed initiative started in August 2008 and has been an enormous success.  Kids of all backgrounds have dropped in, taking advantage of all the equipment and facilities we have to offer.  We usually have skate board ramps, table tennis, a pool table, Wii games console, indoor bowls, graffiti walls, art and craft, and more!  We ask that all young people sign in, even if they’re staying outside to play on the ramps, and £1 gets you a freshly cooked hotdog and a can of coke too!

Little Lambs

Our Little Lambs group meets on Mondays at 9:30am until 11am during term time. This gives mums time to chat and have a cup of tea and toddlers a chance to play and sing as well as having a story about Jesus.

At Christmas Little Lambs have their own special Christmas nativity service on a Monday in December and they invite other Church members to attend.

Guides

Berechurch Guides meet each Wednesday in the hall at 7pm.

The Guides are encouraged to come to our monthly family parade services and parade their flags with the Brownies and Rainbows. As well as helping to lead services, especially in December, the Guides help clean the Church once a term and help provide the meal and clear away afterwards at the Senior Citizens’ Party.

Rainbows and Brownies

Berechurch Brownie Packs and Berechurch Rainbows meet in the hall every week in term time. The 1st Monkwick Brownies meet on Tuesdays and the 2nd Monkwick Brownies meet on Thursdays.

Their promise includes the words,

The Rainbows (under 7s) meet every Thursday in the hall before the Brownies.
